Welcome to Kettlewood 🫖
Kettlewood is a calm survival server for grown-ups. One world, kept for good. These rules are short because we trust you — please read them all, then confirm at the bottom.
1. Adults only (18+)
Kettlewood is for players aged 18 and over. By confirming these rules, you confirm you are 18+.
Why: a calm space for grown-ups is the whole point of the server.
2. Be kind
No harassment, hate speech, slurs, threats or sexual content aimed at anyone. Disagree politely, or walk away. Keep chat readable: no spam, no begging, no advertising other servers or services. Never share someone's personal information (real name, address, photos, socials). Don't pretend to be staff. The same goes for builds, signs, books, skins and names: nothing offensive or sexual.
Public chat is in English so everyone can follow; any language is fine in private messages. No politics and no religion in public chat.
Why: people come here to unwind.
3. No PvP, no griefing, no stealing
PvP is off everywhere. Don't break, change or take anything that isn't yours — even if it isn't claimed. Every block is logged, and damage will be rolled back.
Trades between players are at your own risk, but scamming (lying to trick someone) is treated like stealing.
Why: nobody should lose what they built.
3b. Take care of the world
Replant the trees you cut. Don't leave 1×1 towers or holes, and don't wreck villages, temples or other structures. Trees in town belong to everyone — cutting them is griefing; trees on a plot belong to whoever owns it.
The resource world (through the gate under the town hall, once it opens) is temporary: mine as much as you like, but don't build a home there — it resets from time to time, always announced a week and a day ahead.
Mining in the main world. Open-pit mining is not allowed in the main world: no quarries, pits or scars cut into the surface. Underground mining is tolerated but discouraged (the Diggings are made for it); a mine must start inside a building — the building comes first, then the hole — and its shaft must be invisible from outside and leave the landscape unchanged. If you leave a visible hole, staff will ask you to restore it, and repeated refusal may lead to a sanction.
Spoil (stone, dirt, gravel…) may be reused or destroyed with /trash; never leave it as
piles or towers. Destroyed items are never restored.
Why: one world, kept for good — so we keep it beautiful.
4. Play fair
No hacked clients, x-ray (mods or resource packs), duplication glitches, or automation that plays for you. Fine to use: performance and visual mods (Sodium, OptiFine, shaders), and minimaps — as long as they don't show mobs or players, and have no cave mode. Not sure about a mod? Ask first.
If you find a bug or an exploit, report it — don't use it.
5. Be light on the server
No lag machines, chunk loaders, zero-tick farms, or redstone clocks that never stop. Every machine needs an on/off switch, and flying machines must be watched while they run. Keep farms a reasonable size — and make them look nice: a farm is part of the landscape too.
If your build slows the server, we'll find it and ask you to change it. Being AFK is fine, but you'll be moved out after 30 minutes of inactivity — no AFK machines to get around it.
Why: one world, shared by everyone.
6. Your land
- Your first claim is free and grows as you play. Claim before you build. A claim stays protected for one year after your last visit.
- The town centre belongs to everyone and can't be changed.
- A starter kit (stone tools, food, torches, a bed, a compass that points home, a welcome book) is given once per account, when you first confirm the rules (getting more with extra accounts breaks rule 7).
- Plots around the town (about 45 × 45) can be bought with Embers (✦) from the plot clerk
at the town hall (
/plot) — 1 200 ✦, one per player. A plot is a right to use, not a property: Embers have no money value, they are never sold for real money nor exchanged for it. - Don't claim or build within 100 blocks of someone else's claim, unless they agree.
- Keep your plot tidy. If a build stays unfinished or unsightly, you'll get a first warning, then a second one, each giving you 14 days to fix it. After that, staff will tidy it up themselves — and you probably won't like our taste. 🙂
- A plot goes back on the market if its owner hasn't played for one year. Before that, we save a copy of what was built, so you can get it back if you return.
Why: a beautiful, living town — and no abandoned wrecks.
7. Alternate accounts
Alternate accounts are fine if you declare them to the staff. Using them to get extra homes, votes, plots or free starter items — or to keep farms running — is not allowed. No more than two of your accounts online at the same time.
8. No pay-to-win
Everything can be earned by playing. The store only sells cosmetic ranks and bonuses for the whole server (when someone pays, everyone gets it). Embers are never sold, and nothing you can buy gives you power over other players or changes what you earn. Ranks are tied to your account. Trading real money for in-game items, Embers, ranks or places between players is not allowed.
Why: fairness is the product.
9. Staff decisions
Staff keep Kettlewood calm. Usually it goes: a warning → a mute → a temporary ban → a permanent
ban. Serious breaches (griefing, cheating, harassment, being under 18) can skip straight to a
permanent ban. Every rollback is done from the block logs. If you disagree with a decision, talk to
us privately (on Discord, or /msg a member of staff) — arguing about it in public chat won't help. Getting around a punishment
(new account, signs or books while muted) makes it longer.
The spirit of these rules counts more than their wording: if something obviously hurts other players, don't do it just because it isn't listed here.
10. What we collect
To run the server and keep it safe, we record: your Minecraft name and ID, your IP address, chat messages, block changes (who placed or broke what, and where), votes and purchases — and, when you confirm the rules on our website, your email, your 18+ declaration and the date you agreed. While you're online, the public web map shows your name and where you are. We never sell your data. Details, how long we keep it and how to ask for deletion: Privacy policy.
The town of Kettlewood
The town is everyone's home. These extra rules apply inside its borders.
- The town centre is built and kept by the staff. It can't be changed.
- Homes: plots of about 45 × 45 around the centre, bought with Embers (✦). One per player at first.
- Shops and games: you can open one shop or game in the market quarter. Get a space
from the plot clerk at the town hall (
/plot) — a spot of 25 × 25. 4 spaces are free; the others cost 450 ✦, and the three ready-built shops 1 500 ✦, paid once. You can sell it back to the town at two thirds of its price; it then goes back on sale at full price (a free space sold back is no longer free). - Make it beautiful. Builds in town should fit its style — see the town palette (the
materials that work here: light stone, dark wood, aged copper, lanterns, flowers). No bare cobblestone boxes, no dirt
huts. You don't need approval to start — just don't overdo it: if a build clashes with the town,
we'll ask you to change it so it fits. The palette blocks are on sale for ✦ at the town hall
(
/palette). - Finish what you start: a shop or game space must be built and stocked within 30 days (at least one stall in stock; for a game, a member of staff checks it with you). Need more time? Just ask a member of staff and we'll extend it — Kettlewood is new, and we'd rather be flexible. Otherwise it goes back to the town.
- Every shop and game shows its owner's name on a sign at the front, with clear prices (✦).
- Not in town: farms, mob spawners, villager trading halls, nether portals, and machines. Keep them outside the town borders.
- Height: at most one storey lower than the town hall.
- Inactive shops and games go back to the town after 60 days without their owner playing.
- The Diggings (the resource world through the gate under the town hall) are renewed on the 1st of every month, announced a week and a day before. Everything left there disappears and nothing can be restored. You can rent one lot at the outpost for the season: 300 ✦, 150 ✦ from the 16th, not available in the last week — it lasts until the reset, and nothing in it is refunded or kept. Lots are paid in Embers only. Treasure-hunt loot can't be sold to the town. The Diggings mines and their treasures are earned by playing only: no access, no treasure and no better chance is ever sold — not for real money, not for Embers, not with a rank. Treasures can't be sold at the counter or traded for real money.
- Embers can't be bought, sold or traded for real money — not from the server, not between players. Any real-money deal over Embers, items or plots means the goods are taken back and the players involved are removed.
- Nothing you buy with real money changes what you earn, what things cost you, or how many homes you have. The only gameplay perks for sale are server-wide bonuses: when someone buys one, everyone gets it for a while (double XP…).
- Town hall services (smith, engraver, cartographer) are paid in Embers, which have no money value and can't be bought. An engraving that imitates staff or is used to trick another player is removed, and a trade won with it is undone.
- A permanent ban ends everything: a permanently banned player's plot and shop go back to the town, with no refund.
- The mayor (staff) has the last word on anything built in town.
Confirm the rules
Type /rules in game to get your personal link. It opens a short form here, where you
confirm you've read the rules and that you're 18 or older. Email news stays optional, and unticked.
If you confirmed an earlier version, you'll be asked to confirm this one the next time you join.
Version 8 — in force from 2 October 2026 (the resource world is now called the Diggings; nothing else changes). Version 7: same day (claims kept a year after your last visit; starter kit once per account; what counts as a stocked shop). Version 6: same day, said "two accounts per connection". Version 5: same day, briefly said the store no longer sold the double salary and double counter bonuses; it does. Version 4: 1 October 2026 (rule 9: a decision can also be discussed by /msg with a member of staff). Version 3: 30 September 2026 (mining in the main world, spoil).
